Tesco work with HUB's, what is a HUB?

The Hubs are Tesco's overseas sourcing offices - they are managed by our International sourcing teams and they help us to manage all the business that we do ‘direct' with the many countries we buy from.
We have HUB's in all our key manufacturing areas and they cover all of Tesco's sourcing. They work in a very similar way to an agent, but are Tesco employees - they are an extension of the buying teams

How easy is it to progress within Tesco?

There are a number of tools and processes available to help support you in your job and career in Tesco clothing, that are designed to help develop individual's Technical and Behavioural skills, for both current and future roles within Tesco. These include, clear objectives, Personal Development Plans, Performance Reviews, Career Discussions, Career Progression Days and 360 Degree feedback to name but a few.

What would my induction to Tesco look like?

All new starters will have a structured first week induction starting on the first day with the Tesco ‘Magic Monday' which is an opportunity to meet others and learn more about the broader Tesco business. The rest of the first week will be a combination of relevant training sessions and time spent with both HR and your new team. The following weeks will be spent learning ‘on-the-job' with your line manager and team. You will then have a 6-week review with HR to reflect back on your first few weeks with Tesco.

Welwyn Garden City is situated 25 minutes from London Kings Cross with First Capital Connect Railways. There is a courtesy shuttle bus which transports employees from the station to the office which takes about 5 minutes.

What systems would I need to have experience in working at Tesco head office?
- A5:
Tesco has its own bespoke system which we would train new employees in how to use. In addition to this, Tesco use Excel as the main system within the Buying and Merchandising functions with a reporting tool?
